Walney 2 Wind Farm is located in the Irish Sea, next to the Walney I Wind Farm. It is approximately 15km from Walney Island, and 18km from Barrow-in-Furness.
The wind farm itself consists of 51 x 3.6MW wind turbine generators, all of which are linked to the offshore substation.
The offshore substation is connected to the shore by a 43km undersea cable, which comes ashore near Fleetwood. The onshore cables, which are about 5km long, connect to the onshore substation at Stanah.
